The LSD Mile in Support of Sport Relief In support of Sport Relief, London School of Diving (LSD) has organised what we think is a pretty unique mile - underwater, using scuba gear...on a mountain bike!!! LSD has pulled together various pieces of technology to develop what we believe is the world's first 'Underwater Turbo-Training Cycle' which has been specially designed for operation in our diving pool! Participants in the LSD Mile must raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship for Sport Relief and then are able to reserve a slot as an individual or group to complete the challenge! We should stress that the more money raised the better! During the challenge they will be timed completing their measured mile by one of LSD’s experienced safety divers who will be closely monitoring all aspects of the challenge including a comprehensive safety briefing prior to entering the water. Every participant will receive a special certificate of insanity and wherever possible a photographic record of the event! The LSD Mile will run from 1st February to 21st March 2010. A leader board will be kept at London School of Diving and the winner will be announced on the day of Sport Relief, 21st March together with the total amount raised. The winner of the LSD Mile will receive a £200 voucher from London School of Diving which may be redeemed against any of our recreational courses. There will also be a special prize for the person who raises the most money for Sport Relief! For fun, we will also be running a 'mini mile' for juniors. They need to raise £50 in sponsorship and be at least 12 years old in order to participate. Participants do not have to be qualified divers to take part, but they must have been assessed by LSD prior to the challenge during a 'Try Dive'.
